DAY 157 | Caesar
The CAESAR artillery system is a French 155 mm, 52-calibre self-propelled howitzer installed on a 6x6 or 8x8 truck chassis that can fire all 39/52 caliber NATO-standard shells.
Equipped with an autonomous weapon network incorporating an inertial navigation system and ballistic computer, the CAESAR can accurately (< 1 meter) strike targets more than 40 kilometers (25 miles) away, or targets over 55 kilometers (34 miles) away using rocket assisted or smart ammunition.
It can maintain a firing rate of six to eight rounds a minute in sustained fire, or three rounds in 15 seconds in rapid fire. The gun can be set into and out of action under a minute. It can launch a couple of projectiles, each in different trajectories, so that all of the shells arrive on target at the same time.

Another six French-made Caesar artillery guns promised to Ukraine by French President Macron in June are “on their way” to the war-torn country, France’s foreign minister said on Tuesday, Nov 1, 2022.
Twelve of the high-tech, costly guns prized for their accuracy and mobility have already been delivered to Ukraine earlier this year.
