On a personal note, I discovered (and became addicted to) Fish & Chips
when I was living in Scarborough, Yorkshire. Most of my Sunday
night meals were takeaways from my round-the-corner chippy.
(If you ever go to Scarborough, UK, don't miss the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey
a few miles up North on the coastline. The visit and the views are worth the trip,
especially if you're an avid Bram Stoker reader.)

c'est un plat que j'ai particulièrement apprécié (la Belgique est renommée pour ses frites et le poisson me rappelait trop le goùt de celui du vendredi à l'internat que j'étais un des rares à apprécié)

Hormis le breakfast traditionnel et le fish & chips, il n'y a pas de cuisine anglaise. C'est un concept qui est tout à fait étranger à la culture britannique. Je le sais, j'ai vécu au Royaume-Uni pendant des années. Heureusement, il y a les restaurants indiens !
